Last week sucked.
Not because of the various eternal maelstroms of political news, or because the weather was kind of meh.
It sucked because half my team at work was out sick.
With what? COVID.
The same week the U.S. government declared the end of the COVID public health emergency, half my team was in quarantine, feeling various levels of awful.
By and large, we as a society may be done with COVID, but it’s not done with us. Not by a long shot.
Please, if you’re able, stay home when you’re feeling sick. I also feel that small pang of guilt whenever I call in and say I won’t make it, but the alternative is so, so much worse.
Take care of yourselves, and each other.
